Candie A. Mitchell-Price is an author, speaker, and visionary storyteller on a mission to help women heal from trauma, walk in truth, and rise into their God-given purpose. Through transparent storytelling, biblical wisdom, and empowering tools, she equips her audience to reclaim their voices and rewrite generational narratives.

As Chief Communications Officer for New Schools for Alabama, she champions the voices of parents and families across the state. She is also the founder of Word Girlz, a nonprofit that inspires women and girls through literacy, and the editor-in-chief of WOW! Magazine, a Christian lifestyle publication.

Deeply committed to justice and transformation, Candie is especially passionate about empowering underserved communities and amplifying voices that are too often overlooked.

She is the author of Straight Outta Brokenness, And It Didn’t Kill Me, a raw and redemptive memoir, and is currently working on her first children’s book, India the Invisible, a heartwarming book that celebrates the power of being seen. Whether writing, teaching, or traveling, she leads with authenticity, creativity, and a deep commitment to her faith.

Candie graduated magna cum laude and with University Honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies specializing in Public Relations. She also holds a Master’s in Christian Education and a Master’s in Public Relations.

Candie is a sought-after speaker and has delivered talks at local and national women’s retreats, conferences, and workshops. She is also the wife of Rev. Arthur Price, Jr., the pastor of the historic 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL.
